The scene of the crime was silent but in the far distance you could hear the sirens of police cars as they rushed towards the apartment. Murders weren't uncommon in London just as they weren't uncommon anywhere else. Victorian London had been a pretty gruesome place and there had been many deaths. You would know since they talk to you all the time. You were what the mortals called a Medium. You could see and talk to those who were no longer living, by human standards, because you knew very well that life continued after death.
But you in particular, you were supposed to be an urban legend.
